Matilda the Musical Jr. is the story of an exceptional little girl with extraordinary powers. The daughter of selfish, uncaring parents, Matilda finds refuge in library books and in creating stories from her imagination. Things are no better at school, where Matilda must face a cruel headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, who runs the school with an iron fist. Fortunately, she finds a friend in her teacher, the sweet Miss Honey, who recognizes Matilda's brilliance but struggles to stand up to Miss Trunchbull. Brave little Matilda knows she must rise up against the abusive adults in her world, and in doing so, uses her cleverness and powers to prove that even someone small can have a big impact in a world where life can be unfair.
